We live in the information age. Everyone has a computer, a smart phone, and faster and better Internet access. Did you know that we can put that technology to use for you in your dental care?
At our Longmont dental office, we’ve gone digital to offer you better and faster treatment, easy access to charts, x-rays, and intra-oral images right from the dentist’s chair.
Digital Patient Records and Scheduling Keep You in the Loop
We’ve been using digital patient records and a computerized scheduling system for years in our Longmont dental office. Computerized scheduling makes finding the appointment that works for you quick and easy and ensures that we keep busy throughout the day without being too busy! It also allows us to ensure you get a reminder call so you don’t miss your appointment and makes our front office staff’s jobs easier. Everybody wins with technology!
Having our patient records, including charts, x-rays and intra-oral photographs, stored digitally in our office is an invaluable tool and resource during your dental treatment. It allows us to pull up an x-ray or photo from a previous visit at the click of a mouse button, track your progress in ongoing treatment, and share images with you without you having to move from the chair. It saves us room in the office, too! Physical charts can get bulky after years of dental visits, and storing them all took up a lot of space that can be put to better use for your treatment.
Computerized images are also easier to move from one office to another, so if you have to visit a specialist, we can transmit several pictures instantly. This is far superior to the old method of reproducing your x-ray films, requiring you to make an extra trip to our office to pick them up, and then hoping you don’t forget to take them to your appointment!
Online Insurance Access for Your Convenience
We have recently added online access to most insurance companies, allowing us to check your coverage at a moment’s notice. This allows us to verify if a procedure will be covered and give you an idea of what your expected portion will be. It also lets us transmit claims directly to your insurance company, which means faster processing and more current and accurate account information for you.
Security Is Our Top Priority
Data security is a major concern in this day and age, and rightly so. We want to assure you that we take the security of your personal information very seriously. All of your patient information including charts, x-rays, intraoral photos, and personal information is stored locally and is not accessible online to anyone. Our office is very careful to meet all HIPAA regulations regarding the security of your information. Any information transmitted to or from our office uses proper data encryption methods for your safety and peace of mind.
We are happy to review HIPAA regulations and how we are meeting them with you if you still have concerns. Contact our office for more information.
